This summer, Steve hit pause on the magic shop for a well-earned break, and recovery from carpal tunnel surgery. But true to form, rest didn’t mean idle. Instead of slowing down, Steve lent his skills to a local nonprofit film project entering the Ocean City Film Festival. The short film, a clever period-style piece, needed more than just actors—it needed a little magic. Steve stepped in with enthusiasm, taking on the role of the main characters lawyer, showcasing his performance roots with a dry wit and subtle presence that stood out on screen. But his contribution didn’t end in front of the camera.
Behind the scenes, Steve wore multiple hats: Prop Designer, and Makeup Department Head, including hair and wigs. Steve’s journey from stage illusionist to behind-the-scenes fun is a testament to the lifelong creativity and adaptability that defines true artists. No matter what he takes on, Steve continues to inspire through his craftsmanship and generosity. As the film heads into festival season, Steve is back in the shop, tools in hand, ideas flowing, and the magic is very much alive. Stay tuned for a new product coming in September launching at the Conjuring Community Summit, and a new magical piece to appear on Black Friday! Creativity doesn’t take breaks - it just changes costumes
