At Steve Myers Magic, we’re always tinkering, testing, and refining the props we create. If you’re familiar with our Ice Cream Bars and Cigars, you know these pieces have become favorites for performers who want something visual, unexpected, and built for real-world performance.
Like many handcrafted props, their construction has naturally evolved over time. Earlier versions were produced using a partially hollow core—a design choice that provided lightweight handling while maintaining the appearance and feel performers expect. As we continued experimenting with materials and casting methods over the years, we discovered an alternative approach that fit our goals equally well. Today, our Ice Cream Bars and Cigars are produced using a solid, lightweight material that preserves the handling and visual appeal performers love while allowing us to maintain excellent consistency throughout production. For us, this isn’t about replacing what worked—because the earlier versions worked exactly as intended. It’s simply part of the ongoing process of refining how we build our magic. One of the advantages of producing props in-house is the freedom to keep learning, testing, and evolving along the way. Whether you own an earlier version or are picking one up for the first time, every Steve Myers Magic prop is created with the same goal in mind: dependable magic designed for performance. Thank you for supporting us and being part of the journey as we continue to grow and refine what we make.
